The Cresswell Wing
Harehope Hall is set within spectacular grounds, sheltered by mature woodland and looking out across a river valley to the foothills of the Cheviots. It lies completely secluded a mile and a half west of the pretty village of Eglingham. The Lodge on the left of the B6346 to Chatton marks the beginning of the long drive to the house. The Cresswell Wing has its own private access from an enclosed rear courtyard.
The door to the house opens into the spacious hallway where there is plenty of room for coats and outdoor footwear. There is also a downstairs loo with wash-hand basin and shaver point. The sitting room has an open coal fire, colour television with video and plenty of comfortable sofas. Next door to the sitting room the kitchen/dining room is fully fitted and equipped, including a dishwasher. A utility room off the kitchen has an extra sink, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of drying space with an iron and ironing board. A wide staircase leads to the first floor landing, two large bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other twin beds and a bathroom with shower and loo.
Up more stairs is the top floor, where there is a second bathroom and two more bedrooms, one with two single beds and one a double bed. All the rooms have wardrobes and dressing tables. Linen and towels are provided, duvets are on all the beds. Two extra single beds and/or cot as well as a high chair can be provided on request.
There is central heating and there are fitted carpets or vinyl flooring throughout.
The grounds are open to visitors, although the garden in front of Harehope Hall is private. Dogs are allowed, but must remain under strict control as we have dogs ourselves and poultry, not to mention sheep!
In the grounds of Harehope Hall you are quite likely to spot deer and red squirrels. You'll wake to the sound of the dawn chorus and go to sleep listening to owls! We're sure you'll enjoy this idyllic setting and the surrounding countryside as much as we do.
